this is probably one of the worst verses in the bible.  What I have found most interesting about verses like this--especially thanks to Bart Ehrman and John Dominic Crossan--is that most likely Paul did not write these verses.  

Don&#039;t have my research handy, but it appears that the most misogynist things that Paul wrote--wasn&#039;t written by Paul--but by mostly second or third generation followers of Paul--when women&#039;s place in the church became an &quot;issue.&quot;  These verses were either inserted into the authentic letters of paul or were part of the numerous New Testament books that are attributed to Paul but were not written by Paul.</description>
